Quark Jello Mousse

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz) can pears in juice from concentrate

  • 1 (6 oz) box lime Jello

  • 1 ½ cups ice cubes

  • 1 ½ cups Appel Farms Quark

  • 1 ½ cups thawed Cool Whip

Instructions

Drain the pears and reserve the juice. Dice the pears and set them aside.

Add enough water to the pear juice to bring it to 1 ½ cups. Heat the juice to boiling.

Place the lime Jello into a large bowl. Add the boiling pear juice and stir until the Jello is completely dissolved.

Add the ice cubes and stir until they are melted, and the Jello begins to thicken. 

Add the Quark and using a hand mixer or whisk, combine the Quark and Jello until smooth. It is okay if there are some small lumps.

Fold the cool whip into the Jello Quark mixture. Then fold in the reserved pears.

Allow to chill in the bowl or spoon the mixture into a serving bowl or dessert dishes. Refrigerate for at least two hours.
