Sauce Ingredients

1 cup real mayonnaise

1/2 cup ketchup

1 Tbsp sweet pickle relish

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp ground black pepper

1 tsp granulated sugar (optional)

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, vinegar, and pepper.  Add sugar if you like a sweet sauce.  Measure out 1/2 cup of the sauce.  Cover the remaining burger sauce and place it in the refrigerator as you prepare the burger ring.

Ring Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 Tbsp hamburger or steak seasoning (Trilby’s is a good choice)

1 Tbsp mustard

1/2 cup burger sauce (from above)

2 – 8 ounce tubes crescent rolls, separated into 16 triangles

8 ounces Bacon Cheddar, thinly sliced

1 Tbsp butter, melted

1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350o F.  Line a large baking sheet with foil.  Spray liberally with cooking spray.

In a large skillet on medium heat, cook the onion and ground beef until the onions are translucent and the ground beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.

Add the steak seasoning, mustard, and burger sauce. Mix well.

Place a medium ramekin or cereal bowl in the center of the baking pan. Arrange the crescent triangles around the ramekin with the pointed ends pointing outward. Start working clockwise from 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, then fill in between. The wide ends should overlap.

Arrange half of the Bacon Cheddar evenly around the widest portion of the crescent rolls.

Spread the beef mixture over the cheese, then top with the remaining Bacon Cheddar.

Bring the pointed ends of the triangles over the filling, tucking the tips under the ring on the inside of the circle.

Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.  Let stand for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with the remaining burger sauce.
