Farmstead Swiss is a semi-hard cheese in the swiss family of cheeses, but is sweeter and creamier than a traditional swiss cheese.  Farmstead Swiss originated in the town of Maasdam in Holland as an alternative to the more expensive Emmentaler.

Farmstead Swiss has a sweet buttery, nutty taste with a fruity background and is lovely in casseroles, fondue, and sandwiches.  It is also a perfect pairing with fruit.
